Life Updates, Here We Go
I can’t believe I am sitting here writing on a blog. Especially considering many years ago, I viewed blogs as something that only “older” ladies did. I guess I am an “older” lady now! Either way, the main reason I wanted to create this was to update my loved ones on a larger platform besides typical social media (I.e. Facebook, Instagram). So, here come the updates!
Eden is beaming with joy and energy! She is interested in pretty much everything. A new discovery is that she seems to enjoy her tongue being stroked, thanks to her aunt Ti Ti. She also appears to enjoy animals, more specifically Butter our cat and my family’s Berne doodle, Ellie. Most times when she stares at Butter she begins to move her hands in her direction as if she wants to touch her or perhaps to give her a hug. This little nugget mastered rolling from her back to her tummy but she only does it on her time! She is also learning how to play with her squeaky, high-pitched voice as she curls her tongue while raising and lowering her voice. It is absolutely darling to watch and very entertaining chatting with her. We believe she is in the lovely teething stage so she definitely has had her fussy moments, rightfully so. The Lord has certainly blessed us with such an amazing and beautiful daughter.
Owen is getting back into some gaming and has introduced me to some of his old favorites including Runling Run and Terraria. He and I have also been planning cost effective ways to update and revamp our kitchen. He is so sweet with Eden and I adore watching them together. Owen has also began a new Bible study group at our home on Tuesday evenings which has already blessed us both immensely as we study through the book of James.
As for me, I am preparing to work as a speech language pathologist again from home working with clients on accent modification. I continue to create content with my close friend Emily for our podcast “Lives Set Apart” despite my podcast microphone recently malfunctioning. Last but not least, I am currently experimenting with creating sourdough starter used to make homemade sourdough bread. Honestly I don’t consider myself a natural “homemaker” by any means, but I am excited to embark on this new endeavor in hopes that I can pass this skill down to my child and potentially children one day.
Our chickens are doing well and staying in the fence more given this cold weather we have. They devour our compost everyday and have been laying about 5-8 eggs a day thus far. The roosters seem to have figured out females more as well however I still have to occasionally kick one of them as he seems to think I am competition. Honestly I am very proud of them overall!
Thanks for reading about our family and stay tuned for more entries.
